Do I need permission to soundproof my home?+
Lining your own walls or ceilings in an existing home doesn't normally need planning permission or Building Regulations approval. Converting a building into flats is different and must meet Part E.
How much room will I lose?+
Typically about 45 to 125 mm on a wall and 50 to 150 mm on a ceiling, depending on the system. We'll recommend the slimmest option that will genuinely solve the problem.
Will the room be completely silent?+
No honest installer will promise silence. A good system makes a clear, noticeable difference, but deep bass is always the hardest sound to stop. We'll tell you what's realistic at the survey.
